Maesopsis eminii
Engler (Rhamnaceae)  is a large African forest tree. This light demanding species is rather scattered throughout its range (Liberia to Kenya) with the exception of Uganda where it may form monotypic stands. Maesopsis has been introduced to many parts of the tropics and has been found to be regenerating naturally in several places (e.g. East Usambaras, Puerto Rico).

The investigations of Maesopsis are carried in collaboration with Bangor (University of Wales).
